What is Dead Eye Auto Target?
First of all, what is Dead Eye Auto Target in Red Dead Redemption 2? It is a slow-motion skill used to better aim at the enemy while they are in slow motion. The Dead Eye will make the whole world into a sepia color tone and all moving things will start to move in slow motion. That is including you as well which is Arthur Morgan. By using this, you will be able to shoot multiple headshots in a short amount of time. The reason this is useful is that even though you will be in slow motion, your aim speed will not slow down. So you get an advantage by quickly aiming at the enemies.
How to use it?
The small eye icon present in the bottom left of the screen and above the map is the Dead Eye Auto Target. It has a meter around it which shows the time you are able to use it. There are 8 levels to which you can upgrade the Dead Eye Auto Target. You can activate Dead Eye by pressing R1 (PS4) / RB (Xbox One). You can customize this icons as well. When you activate it, you are able to tag the enemies and shoot them in slow motion. Once you stop the Dead Eye, the enemies will fall on the ground.
Can we use Dead Eye while using Auto Target?
At the starting levels, the auto target allows you to shoot all the enemies present near you at once with a whole round of bullets. As you upgrade, the Dead Eye would only aim on one target at a time. Which means you would have to use Dead Eye 5 times to shoot 5 enemies. This is a horror for some people, They want the old version back. But the fact is that this is not possible after upgrading the Dead Eye skill. The best thing you can do is go back to the save where you had it and don’t upgrade it at all. This way, you can keep the Auto Target through out the game.
The manual and the auto target are two different ways to shoot in Red Dead Redemption 2. Most people prefer the auto aim to the head cause its a lot more easier and you don’t have to be a pro player to win.
